Slow & Steady ships today!

Finally! The wait is over! Slow & Steady went out to all major radio! A real bog thanks to WTNJ for being the first to break it and play it this whole time. Hope to see you all at a show soon, thanks again and love ya West Virginia!

Awesome night.

So I get a call from a friend of mine that I have known for almost all my life named Billy. He use to play with my dad back in the day, and always be at the house hangin' out. He called and said that he was playing lastnight and wondered what I was gonna be doing. So I stopped in and hung out for a while, but here is the cool thing. His wife and son were there lastnight watching, and to see his little boy looking up at his dad on stage brought back so many memories of me going to watch my dad play at The Riverfront and King Charlie's Tavern that it was crazy. I mean when you hear people say "awa...that takes me back" that really, took me back. Love you dad.

18 hours on the road in two days.

On the road with my band Soul-Funk Superfly...I'm sleepy...somehow Scott and Stu snuck logs and chainsaws into the room lastnight and were sawing them things like it was their jobs! Aka...they snore really loud. So it's 2:40 and we are about 22 minutes away from beckley. Goodnight, sleep tight and for the love of all that's holy STOP FEEDING TOM AFTER MIDNIGHT!

P.S. That was our view this morning...not right now but the one before...like yesterday...ok, whatever goodnight.

The Lost Parrot

You ever wonder where this parot is from? Like...has anyone asked him? I mean, Chip is a really nice guy...why dosnt he help him get home? On the trail

Had a blast this weekend at the Hatfield Mcoy trails in historic Matewan, Wv. Mushroom Rock was amazing to see in person, instead of just magazines. The mountian that's on fire underground was by far the coolest thing I have ever heard of or got to wittness. To think that I was standing on a mine shaft that caught fire over a hundred years ago and is still burning, just blew my mind. You could actully see the heat coming out of the vents in the ground and cook food on the rock if you wanted. They actually made a movie that mentions it in there called "Silent Hill." Ok Wv see ya next week, but now...this guy is going back to Ohio! Make sure you come to Cowboy Up in Bluefield, Wv on the 15 to be a part of my first video for CMT and GAC!

VIDEO TIME!!!

Awa yea! Saturday August 15 we will be shooting footage for the up coming "(I'm Yo) Chicken Man" video at Cowboy Up in Bluefield, Wv and again Saturday September 5 at The Lost Parrot in Beckley, Wv! Now...make sure you bring your video camera cause aside from the video we get, we also want YOURS! That's right, at the end of the night we will download the video you took to be used in the "(I'm Yo) Chicken Man" video! So bring your cameras and get ready to make a your first Music Video!

Country Weekly Magazine

Today was quite possibly one of the coolest days yet! It all started when I woke up in bed, and not in an ally...good start. Then I went down to The Tracking Room 2, AKA Track 2 to meet Dad and Dale to go over the pictures from the last photo shoot. By the time we were done Dale had picked about five pictures that he "DIDN'T" like outta almost 200!!! And he said I looked awesome on the bike, and that I might need to get one...bonus! So, the day is going amazingly good thus far. Then I meet up with Stu and Tom go to Country Weekly Magazine to do an interview and play for the staff...seriously, how awesome is today...flipin' awesome that's how much! Then the entire staff signed the brand new issue that is getting ready to come out next week (that I am getting in a frame the second I get home) for me before we left, then I headed back to The Tracking Room for another interview with Todays Country Magazine! Wow! O...then...I had a double cheese burger with my poppa from Wendy's...DAMN GOOD DAY!

Hello!

I just played a show with my friends Confederate Rail Road last night and John Anderson and it was a total blast! Lol, John and his band were so tight it was crazy...I mean they were awesome! Then a few weeks ago I was in Nashville for Music Row Live and The CMA Music fest. It's been an amazing last few weeks, plus...the new iPhone came out today! See ya on the road! Getting ready for the Tracy Byrd show!

What's up everyone! Ok, so I just woke up and it's 1:49. I have to leave in an hour and a half for the show in Columbus and I know Tom is gonna be mad that I'm not gonna be ready LOL! Hope to see ya'll out for the Tracy Byrd show tomorrow night. Check the MySpace for times and the address ('cause God knows i have no idea). Have a happy and safe memorial day weekend! Photo shoots, GTO's and roller skates...

...ok, there really wasn't roller skates. I went back to Nashville on the 23rd after the cruise, to get ready for the photo shoot on the 30th. I spent almost every minute that week shopping for shirts, vests, blazers, boots, belts, buckles, bling, hats and jeans with an amazing stylist (who I can't say enough good things about). Yea and I even had alterations that I thought was going to take forever, but I was in and out and totally painless! "I got my hair did" (lol) by one of the best in Nashville and even did Brooks and Dunn and Kellie Pickler's hair for Idol and a ton of other people too. So then i get to the shoot at 9:00am on thursday and here is this '68 black drop top GTO...I love my life...thank you God! We spend the whole morning and half of the afternoon shooting. I wanna thank everyone for all you did and making the photos turn out amazing! O, and did I mention the photographer also did Leanne Rhymes two videos "Probably Shouldn't Be This Way" and "Nothin' Better To Do"...yea that was my week. And just a quick question too...every where I went somehow someone from the record label found me and showed up...how'd you guys do that?! 

Ok, Cowboy Up tonight and tomorrow! Hope we do don't lose the trailer again ha ha ha!

Land!!!

Words can not describe wow excited I was to see land after the last week! I had an awesome time on the cruise, but man is it nice to be back! The cruise was amazing, Mustang Sally was freekin'  awesome, the food was great and it was a perfect get away for us. I wanna thank everyone that came and hope to see you all again as soon as possible. OK! So back to business! I'm back in Nashville, Tn and today i meet with the label, Monday is wardrobe, Tuesday I'm writing, Wednesday is hair and Thursday is the photo shot for the NEW ALBUM! 

Just the start of things!

"In the last three days I have seen ten states, a car on fire, a person...person get hit by a car...yea, and Tom in a dress." Ok...so I lied about the last one. We were on the road for almost 40 hours and got about seven in sleep. Needless to say a good Easter dinner was SO welcome! So I leave tomorrow for Nashville to record and when I get to the studio I'll put up the pictures and videos. Hope everyone is having a good Easter!

The music business...

Hopefully the first and last serious post I will ever do. A lot of people in "the music business" and "artists" say that they have payed their dues and when is it going to be my turn. I have only been going down this path for a few years now and am farther then most of the people that have been doing this years and years, and have way way more talent than me. The only reason, is because of the people who are behind me and push and help me day in and day out. But I never forget where I come from or who I am. Tonight I had a huge fight with someone who is very close to me and who I look up to and have for years, about something as petty as the phrasing in a line of a song. This coming from the guy who told me the good thing about music is no one dies on the operating table. The last few days I have been rough, as I lost a good friend, and another lost his son. So I will say this, and then I'm out. If it wasn't for the people in my life I wouldn't be where I am today (in more ways than one...and damon yes i am talking to you). We all need to take a minute out of our busy lives and thank the people who stand by us and tell them how we feel. And most of all, thank the the man upstairs for the gifts that he has given us. And if something would happen to me and I don't make it to see another stage. I would like to thank all of my fans, for supporting me and all that you do. All my friends, I'm sorry that I lose touch and sometimes don't call back as soon as I should. My big brother Damon and his amazing wife Amanda thank God for the both of you. My two Uncles Billy and Chip, everything you have done for me. My band and Steve...the most talented bunch of guys I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Dale you have given me an once in a lifetime chance, I will not let you down. Mom and Dad you two are my entire world and if it wasn't for you I would be no where, I love you both so much it hurts. And finally the most beautiful girl I have ever met and the woman I want to spend the rest of my life with Laura. I love you so much and can't wait to have you back in my arms. I love you all and I want to thank you for helping make me who I am, and not letting me fail.

Live In The Studio

Easter Baskets, Chinese Food and Poison Ivy...

Well I get back to good 'ol Coshocton, Oh and decide to do some yard work since it's like in the 70's! So I'm out side cutting down tress (well I'm not Scott is...I'm not allowed to use the chainsaw) and burning them in the fire pit, not even thinking about poison ivy 'cause it's been so damn cold out...that stuff has gotta be dead still right? WRONG! Then I decide to go to Walmart and finish Easter Basket shopping for my girl Laura (which by the way is the most "beautifulest" girl in the world, and am in no way attracted to Jessica Beil at all anymore...especially after she read my earlier post about how amazing Jessica is and got yelled at for it LOL!) thinking that I wouldn't be in there for long, but I seemed to forget...it's Walmart! I was in there forever, but MAN is her basket gonna rock! Love ya babe, can't wait to see ya!

Hello PA!

Wow, what a week. First we loose out trailer on our way to Cowboy Up and almost die! Then we find out that we are going to Nashville to start recording for not one album...but three! The album to be released on DMP Records, an Acoustic seven song album and an "undisclosed album" muhaa ha ha ha (Mr. Burns voice). But seriously, it has been very hectic. They also appointed me a Road Manager because they seem to think i can't keep myself out of trouble LOL! And if you are wondering if there is a video to us loosing the trailer...the answer is yes! 

Still sick...

Day 3...14 hundred hours (did I do that right?) I still feel like hell, and have to leave tomorrow at 8:00am for Cowboy Up in Bluefield, Wv. But...on a side note...I was watching the TV Guide channel, as I often do. When this program came on that started talking about The Golden Globes or whatever was just on. There were two girls and two "guys" on there talking about fashion. Now I'm all for new style and trying to look nice, BUT...the two "guys" (and I use that term loosely) were talking about how bad Jessica Biel looked! Come on...it's Jessica Biel! She might possibly be the hottest woman ever, NO...is the hottest woman ever. For them to say that is outlandish and an upsetting downright lie. So I will say to them with their fohawks, pink shirts and strange hand movements, go fix you car, drink a beer and be a guy. But most of all, leave Jessica alone! And to my eight subscribers, that...is what really grinds my gears. Be looking for the first video tomorrow! Cause it's a comin'!

Really? Come on...

So I wake up this morning and I feel like a train hit me. Really...this is not good. Ok, going back to bed. I wish I had some mashed potatoes and gravy from KFC right now. Best sick food ever! Ok...bed.

Big Pimpin' In Columbus

Well...I know i said I would talk to you tomorrow three days ago, but the last two days has been full of crazyness! So we get to the show on Friday at Sam's and it's packed! It was our first time there as a band, and had a total blast. O, by the way...I have a washboard player now..."Yea thats right, I said it!" The show ended up stopping at 2:30am and got loaded up around 3:15am. Turned around and drove to Coshocton, Oh and got in around 7:30am...what a night! Then woke up the next day and headed for Whiskey Dicks in Columbus, Oh for the Jimmy Wayne show. What a talented guy, and as nice as they come too. Here in the next few days we are going to book some more shows there, and I gotta say...if you haven't been there GO! It's a badass place, and Scott is by far one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Ok so make sure you go check out Jimmy Wayne and I also wanna send a huge HUGE! Congrads to my friends Taylor Made for landing a #1 on the Indie World Country chart for "Heavy Duty Beauty." First Day With You On Tour!

Hey everyone! You are now "Officially" On Tour with me...Jason Mitchell. First I'd like to say thank you to WTNJ 105.9 Power Country for giving me the opportunity to to write, and share this blog with all of you. The last few months have been CRAZY! I just got signed by the new record label DMP (Dale Morris Productions) out of Nashville, Tn and have been non stop ever since. So being it my first post I'll keep it short and sweet. Ok, tomorrow we got a show at Sam's in Charleston, Wv. We get done at 2:00am then it's off to Columbus, Oh for Whiskey Dick's to open for Jimmy Wayne. So get ready, It's gonna be a fun ride!
